Will Oldham’s recent BPB outings haven’t reached the heights of his past New Americana landmarks, but he’s certainly developed an ear for the pleasant of late, and that much remains true in this sparse Matt Sweeney-assisted cover of ‘Storms’. Couldn’t have hurt to have such an enduring melody to start with, either.
